Escalator moduleThe 10-month Escalator programme is made up of:

Five intensive two or three-day modules each focused on different aspects of business development, leadership and governance. They are held in Wellington every two months.

  1. Building individual potential
  2. Communication, decision making and critical thinking 
  3. Governance, strategy and finance (three-day module
    facilitated by the NZ Institute of Directors)
  4. Leadership
  5. Commercial, HR governance, media, networks and development of a five-year plan

Between modules a distance learning programme cements the module experience through:

  • Individual development in identified areas with support from the Programme Director 
  • Executive coaching sessions 
  • Set tasks which make sense of and put into practice the module learning
  • Shadowing opportunities with rural and industry leaders
  • Observing boards in action 

Mentoring from an expert in the woman’s chosen field is available when she is ready.  

Cohort development where the group of women remains connected to the AWDT and each other long after the programme finishes. Our Alumni group forms an active network connection.
