Trustee opportunity

The Agri-Women’s Development Trust (AWDT) believes that leadership starts with self. As a charitable trust,
our mission is that through learning, collaboration, connection and support, we will strengthen and diversify the
leadership across Aotearoa’s food and fibre sector, including rural communities.


Since 2010, AWDT has worked in partnership with industry and Government to build the skills and confidence
of more than 5,000 people who are now making a positive impact in their farming businesses, careers,
communities and wider sector – from the farm to the boardroom.


AWDT is entering a new phase as we work to help meet new changes, challenges and opportunities facing the
food and fibre sector.


Trustee Vacancy
We are inviting applications for a Trustee to join the board of the Agri-Women’s Development Trust
(AWDT).

This is an exciting opportunity to help grow and develop dynamic, capable leaders across our food and fibre
sector.

The role:
Applicants for this position will have strong affinity for AWDT’s core values – ‘standing shoulder to shoulder’,
‘keeping it real’, ‘creating confidence’, ‘being curious’ and ‘inspiring hearts and minds.’
Applicants will have proven governance ability and experience, as well as:

  • Commitment to trustee development
  • Ability to influence and make connections to help achieve our mission
  • Leadership
  • Strategic thinking
  • Financial acumen
  • Understanding of the rate of disruption and change
    Other attributes:
  • Strong interest in leadership development in the food and fibre sector
  • Time available to devote to the position

The board normally meets in-person four times a year and may hold additional meetings by Zoom 3-4 times
per year. In-person meetings usually take place in Wellington and typically run to a full day. Zoom calls run for
two hours.This role is remunerated.
